My name is Jackie Noakes and I am an Ofsted Registered Childminder based in Potton, Beds. I provide professional childcare in my family home and have been working as a Registered Childminder since Feb 1997. I have looked after children with ages ranging from babies to 11 years from a variety of homes and cultures.
I am married with 3 children of my own ranging from 10 to 17 years, who all attend local schools. My husband works as an assistant head teacher in Stevenage, and we also have 3 cats, a labrador dog, 2 mice and some African land snails.
Previous to childminding I was a Registered Nurse for 2 years and Registered Midwife for 8 years. I no longer practice.
My registration allows me to care for 5 children under the age of 8. No more than 3 of these may be under 5 years old, 2 of which can be under 1 year. My insurance states I can care for 10 children in my home including my three children. My 2 oldest children being over the age of 8 are not counted in my numbers and Ofsted states that I may care for children over the age of 8 as long as it is not detrimental to the care of the under 8’s.
My goal is to provide all children in my care, a clean, safe, fun, stimulating, loving, home-like environment where they can play and learn. Respect towards self, others and the environment will be emphasised.
The most important priority is to have FUN! Please don’t expect my home or your child to be perfectly clean at collection time. We do lots of activities that are messy and will do our best to maintain cleanliness and order, but the fun and well-being of the children will always take precedence over cleaning.
